I would like to let everyone know that I have been acting Director for the Indianapolis Chapter of the Indiana Ghost Trackers for a month now and I would like to thank everyone for the support and confidence you have put in me at our next meeting on January 16th. There will be a vote for our board. I have been an Indy Chapter Member for about the last 5 years and I look forward to serving the Indy Chapter. My goal is to make meetings entertaining yet informative. I want our members to enjoy the time we share once a month. At this meeting, I will give a presentation on Audacity - how to install and use it with your EVP’s. This will be a visual presentation on one of the better audio programs that you can get for free on the internet. Also, we will have a very special guest at the meeting weather permitting. Mike McDowell - President/CEO Indiana Ghost Trackers. If you have not met Mike don’t pass up this chance.
Due to the Indianapolis Colts first playoff game, we will have the meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 and for those who would like to bond we will go to a pub or BW3’s to watch the game.
Where - MCL Cafeteria
5520 Castleton Corner Ln.
When - 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
If you would like dinner before the meeting we will be there at 4:45pm

November 2008: The Indy Chapter cheerfully accepted a generous invitation from Bloomington Chapter to join them in a ghost hunt at the Indiana Memorial Union at the IU Campus.
An amazing number of new (and new-again) members showed up for both chapters, and we were treated to a tour of the haunted tower of the IMU. It was a long drive for a meeting night, but well worth it to meet so many cool new folks in a beautiful and spooky historic location.
Saturday night, September 27th, was our first downtown tour! We had a good turnout, and everyone seemed enthusiastic and interested. Our hosts at the Slippery Noodle started us off with history and told us firsthand of paranormal experiences in the place after closing time. Even the IGT guides were listening closely… Of course we did, this is why we joined in the first place!
The tour ended just shy of 90 minutes, winding around the downtown area and crossing the Circle. At the end, those on the tour stuck around awhile to ask questions about the group and our own experiences, then headed back to the Noodle for drinks afterwards. It seemed to me that a good time was had by all.
As of this posting, there are still five more opportunities to join us in exploring the haunted locales of our capital city. You can reserve a spot now by clicking the orange text in the upper left corner of the site.
Well, it’s been awhile since we posted to this blog, so I thought I’d mention what we’re up to. This fall, we’re working on a Haunted Indianapolis Downtown Walking Tour. No details so far, but we have a tentative route worked out, and have some good possibilities for interesting stops along the way in the works.
The “pilot” tours will be given during Gen Con Indy 2008 (for convention attendees only). We expect to have public tours possibly in September, definitely in October.
Look for more information in this space coming soon!
Wow, this was the best banquet ever! So many people turned out for the event that tables were a little crowded, but this only helped fuel the party atmosphere. There were well-deserved awards handed out, kudos and congratulations on success in all the chapters. Then the karaoke and dancing began and went on til our time was up at 1am.
Thank you SO MUCH Lafayette for putting on such a great banquet! You may have stolen our trophy one too many times for us to have won for the year, but it’s not as painful to lose to the best. You guys rock!
Wow, what a month June was! Patrick Burns of CourtTV’s “Haunting Evidence” drove all the way up from Georgia to give a presentation to IGT Indy Chapter. He talked about all kinds of ghost tech and methods. It was a real eye opener, and he was a fantastic guy to hang out with and to learn from. Coming soon: pictures and video from his visit.
